Over the twentieth century cinema has repeatedly become a propaganda tool, shaping citizens’ worldviews. How should its role in presenting complex historical problems look like from the perspective of liberal democracy today? All interested in this subject are invited to a discussion panel on “The truth of time, the truth of the screen – historical politics in the cinematography”, which will take place at the Freedom Games on November 11th at 11:00 am. The debate will be attended by:
– Agnieszka Holland – director, president of the European Film Academy in Berlin,
– Olgierd Łukaszewicz – Polish theater and film actor, former president of the Union of Polish Stage Artists (ZASP),
– Joanna Kos-Krauze – director and screenwriter, chairwoman of the Guild of Polish Directors
– Konrad Szołajski – director and screenwriter, in the years 1993-1999 three times nominated for the Golden Lion
